Culture Not Costume

In recent twitter buzz, we noticed multiple campaigns reprimanding racially stereotypical Halloween costumes. One that is getting the most feed back is a poster campaign done by Ohio University, dating back to 2011 it is still prominent and getting feed back as if it were just published.
Some tweeters are stating that Halloween is just a day to dress up, while other tweeters even stated under the post
"We dress up as zombies does that mean the dead are coming back to life?'.
Do you agree? Do you think that Halloween is just a day to dress up as something or someone you normally could not or is it deeper than that? Comment your opinion below.
