Not Your Wifey's Cleaning Schedule

Image VIA Man Repeller

Its Emani Mone and I'm NOT YOUR WIFEY! I am starting an article (or guide, think ned's declassified but for women) called Not Your Wifey for the new age woman who wants the family life as well as a business life. I have a ton of tips to share about living alone, living with your partner as well as just moving to a big NEW city and actually managing spiritual, personal and business relationships.
Gladly, all of you read this tittle and saw that this is actually a cleaning schedule. How fun? So I read the man repeller's article and decided to put my Polite spin on things. Lets get gross.

1. Clean The Toilet

In reality who doesn't clean their toilet every time it looks dirty. I mean eating Chipotle is not the best life choice but we do it anyway?

My Guess: Once a week  / My Reality: Every two days, I'm a bit obsessive compulsive with the toilet. I'll feel like my bathroom is a public bathroom and literally have bad digestion for days if its not clean. (IM DRAMATIC)

The Answer: Cleaning expert Leslie Reichert says it should be thoroughly cleaned once a week, but given a once over with the toilet brush once per day for general maintenance.

2. Change Your Loofah

Ok, I am guilty of only changing my loofah when I feel like it doesn't exfoliate my skin anymore. I mea that's why I bought it. If you don't feel the scrub, what is it good for absolutely nothing!

My Guess: Every 2 months / My Reality: Every six months

The Answer: Ideally, you’d soak it in bleach for five minutes once a week and then replace it every two months if it’s plastic or every month if it’s made of natural fibers, per dermatologist Melissa Piliang, MD. My loofah is blue and I am not getting it bleached so... I'll just leave this there

3. Wash Your Towel

Towels in a female house are used for a plethora of things. Such as hair, body and maybe even closing up the bottom of your door for uhh personal things.

My Guess: Every 2 weeks / My Reality: Once a month

The Answer:  Every three to four uses, says home expert Richmond, because they’re designed for heavy use and get very wet. Because we all must live in a laundry matt... mental note: next apartment has to have washer and dryer.

4. Change Your Toothbrush

I would say every 4-6 months because we use this everyday and dia if your nasty.

My Guess: 4-6 months / My Reality: Twice a year at doctors appointments. Don't look at me I know you do it too.

The Answer: Every three months, according to the American Dental Association, or as soon as it appears frayed. ALSO, DON’T STORE IT NEAR A TOILET BECAUSE POO PARTICLES GET ON IT.

MTA x Supreme

Supreme Metro-Card Via MTA.COM
We all know New York as Hypebeast heaven but when the MTA and Supreme announced their collaboration the subways went wild causing delays and even riots at some locations. We all know that Supreme is a bit drastic with their merchandise however, the box logo seems to sell out on about any item including a brick. The now sold out Supreme metro-card retailed for about $5.50 commonly known as two subway rides while the cards are being resold for $1,000+. What is your opinion on the metro-hype?

Beyonce Interviews Solange

We all know Beyonce is one that rarely grants interviews but with sister Solange she obviously has a weak spot. Beyonce agreed to be the interviewer for sister Solange' Interview Magazine article. Solange in fact asked if sister Beyonce could be the proctor because Solange' latest release A Seat At The Table was family orientated with having the own power sister duo's mother and father being interviewed apart of numerous skits on the album.  Beyonce shed light on how Solange has always been this eclectic person and very into the way she dressed and went about her creative process. Check out the full article in the link below.

Did Marvel bring back Luke Cage for publicity or to shed light on the culture that surrounds African-American men? A big question to ask such a powerhouse like Marvel whom has been trying to bring in more characters of color.

After a sabotaged lab experiment gone wrong Cage actually has unbreakable skin hence, he is bullet proof. "Don't ask, don't tell" (DADT) was the official United States policy on military service by gays, bisexuals, and lesbians, instituted by the Clinton Administration on February 28, 1994, when Department of Defense Directive 1304.26 issued on December 21, 1993, took effect, lasting until September 20, 2011.

Over the last decade the Don't ask, don't tell policy has made major changes. While to some the policy is normal procedure since being in the military is a job and those such topics should not arise in the work place. But, on duty while you are away for sometime and begin to make special bonds and friendships with your fellow colleagues sexual orientation may arise. If someone may over hear or a common case of the telephone game runs along what can you do? Since people tend to mirror themselves onto other people 9 times out of 10 if you do not state your sexual preference many would not know.

Polite Society loves this project titled Don't ask, don't tell shot by the photographer Breann WHLGN (based in Detroit) because it shows people what not to do which is to conform to society. Polite Society Magazine would love to hear your opinions on the matter below or on our twitter. Make sure you follow the photographer and give credit.

Are driverless cars the future or are we bound to crash? Well, in Pittsburgh, citizens and tourists alike may find themselves riding in a driveless car.  As apart of expanding Ubers fleet, they are launching for the first time driverless cars.

According to they already have a "handful" of driverless cars but by the end of the year will have at least 100. However, this does not mean that you will hop into an uber without a driver just yet. There will be a pilot and co-pilot manning the car one for the wheel just incase something occurs and another to take notes on the way the Uber drive is going.

So lets see how this launch at the end of the month will go. Hopefully, this launch will spread to other cities soon but for now Jesus Grab the Wheel.

How To Be A Morning Person

No matter if you are 18 years old or 38 years old we all have a problem getting up in the morning. Eventually everyone gets up, (god willing) but here is a little guide on how to do so with more grace.

Behavioral scientists say that it takes the normal human mind to make or break a habit in 21-days. So that could be anything to not biting your nails to even you guessed it waking up earlier!

Involving more people in your goal will make someone hold you accountable which is good for a constant, sometimes annoying way to get something done

Hitting snooze can sometimes be a sort of routine thing to do and it makes you lose time in the day you could've been doing something else, like reading this article.

Waking up to work out creates a sense of urgency as well as giving you a morning routine that will kinda guilt trip you if you don't complete.

Working hard during the day will make you tired earlier hence you'll go to bed earlier and won't feel as bad waking up the next day. *opinion* lol

Staying hydrated makes your body relieve any toxins in the body that might be lurking in your body. Also, scientists report that staying hydrated improves cognitive focus as well as gorrgyness in the morning.

We are all familiar with the Gabby Douglas story and how she evoked a spirit within young African-American girls hearts everywhere to try something different. More Women who are breaking boundaries

Rafaela Silva a women who earned and carried the first Brazilian Gold Medal of the Olympics are turning heads to the long neglected favelas.

The first female fencer to wear her traditional Hijab during the Olympics. While seeming obviously normal to her was quite controversial to others.

We should be proud as women to celebrate other women in their success. No matter the skin tone but we are glad to see records for African-American women being broken and hopefully this is a small step to change.
